NASA Technology Helps To Put Dead Sea Scrolls In Data Bank

The Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), using technology developed by a NASA scientist, is documenting tens of thousands of scroll fragments that are preserved in the State's archive and will establish an Internet databank accessible to the public. The Dead Sea Scrolls are the oldest Hebrew record of the Torah ever found. A press conference displayed the technology that includes color and infrared photography, which makes it possible for the first time to read scroll fragments that could not be seen until now.
