Bnei Akiva Educators on Challenges of the Facebook Generation
by Gil Ronen & Yoni Kempinski

The Bnei Akiva movement held a study day for educators from its national network of high school yeshivas (for boys) and ulpenas (for girls) Sunday.

The study day focused on the educational challenges of the current generation, and featured an exhibition of educational initiatives from the different institutions. Hundreds of educators came together at the Bnei Akiva yeshiva in Givat Shmuel, to see some of the educational activity being done in the other institutions. Some decided do adopt and adapt other educators' ideas.

Yeshivas and ulpenas presented educational initiatives including road safety activities, an art project on Jerusalem, production of a musical concert, a leadership course, a project for reaching out to the community and to the elderly, charitable activities, inclusion of the students in all steps of the preparation of the annual field trip and more.

Rabbi Chaim Druckman, Chairman of the Bnei Akiva Yeshivas, greeted the participants and told then that despite what one sees in the press these days, the Nation of Israel is in a very good state and there is a great wave of return to Judaism.
