Op-Ed: UCLA’s Jewish Problem – Trending Far and Wide
To be Jewish at UCLA or at any other Burka U is to be an outcast, primed for blacklisting and bullying.

The story has been circulating for quite some time, but finally The New York Times took notice, front page, about Rachel Beyda who failed to meet specifications at UCLA, namely for the mistake of being Jewish.
This demerit disqualified the 20-year-old sophomore from being admitted to an exclusive student council subgroup, the judicial board, although all her other papers were in order. She’s taking economics but intends to become a lawyer. Social media have elaborately presented her case before the pubic.
I find it strange that the Times should be covering this so prominently. The Times is part of the problem.
Back when Sandy Koufax was pitching some broadcasters in the South were inclined to smirk – “He’s a great pitcher, but he’s also, well, you know.”
Could she [Miss Beyda] be counted on to be faired-minded enough to always take the Arab side?
Miss Beyda’s name doesn’t even sound Jewish and from my observation she doesn’t even look Jewish. Must be that she acts Jewish?
The question was whether being well, you know, Jewish, disabled her from being fair-minded if ever conflicts of interest came up.
In a pinch, could she be counted on to be faired-minded enough to always take the Arab side?
The committee that gathered to consider Miss Beyda’s application sent her out of the room and for some 40 minutes hotly debated among themselves whether Miss Beyda deserved a yes or a no, given the fact that she is, well, you know. Seems that even among some Jewish members of the committee, Miss Beyda was not fully indoctrinated into the Burka movement, so popular at UCLA and campuses far and wide.
Unlike so many others who have shed their Jewish identities in favor of radicalized liberalism, this student, apparently, still had, well, Jewish tendencies.
She wasn’t fooling anybody. Most severely, she was seen entering a Jewish sorority house.
A video was made of the 40-minute council session and was immediately suppressed from YouTube for sounding a touch too Inquisitorial.
Like this I imagine: Is she now or has she ever been a member of the Zionist Party?
Did she or didn’t she associate with groups that conspire against our aims and ideology? We need her to name names.
We have testimony that this candidate has been seen reading restricted books, like this one from our Index of Forbidden Works.
It is known – yes it has been observed that this candidate lights candles Friday night and tends to get teary-eyed at the sound of the shofar and Hatikvah.
She was being watched!
Most troubling was the fact that Miss Beyda seemed unrepentant about being well, you know.
The Times was surprisingly blunt: “The discussion, recorded in written minutes and captured on video, seemed to echo the kind of questions, prejudices and tropes — particularly about divided loyalties — that have plagued Jews across the globe for centuries, students and Jewish leaders said.”
Too true. Yet the climate of alarming intolerance spreading rapidly along our nation’s campuses is largely the fault of The New York Times itself, plus the waves of students – or people who call themselves students – being imported onto America’s universities from Muslim countries.
To be Jewish at UCLA or at any other Burka U is to be an outcast, primed for blacklisting and bullying. If even the Times sees echoes of the past and finds a disturbing trend, we can only wonder what’s in store for any Jewish applicant applying for any spot at any American college or university.
Will there be a loyalty test to prove adherence to all liberal and pro-Arab causes? Or is this practice already in the works and we only know of Miss Beyda?
Chances are she is not alone.
University councils may already be acting upon Nuremberg Laws, demanding that Jewish students answer for their Jewish tendencies.
Tendencies that are being monitored, such as:
Have you now or have you ever been known to frown when students and faculty torch and stomp the Israeli flag? This is sure to be noticed.
Why is your name missing from all BDS and SJP petitions? This too has been noticed.
Do you fail to cheer when Muslim students run through the dorms shouting Allah Akhbar? This has been reported.
If you come from an Orthodox home, are you willing to renounce your mother and father – and can you prove that your grandmother wasn’t Jewish?
Even if you have no feelings whatsoever about Israel, and don’t even give it a second thought, still not good enough because well, you know.
In the end, the council reversed itself, but too late to reverse the permanent disgrace.
