Palestinian Authority Hails Terrorist Who Butchered 13-Year-Old Israeli Girl; Blames ‘Occupation’ for His Death

Official Palestinian Authority Channels lauded the terrorist who butchered a 13-year-old Israeli girl in her Kiryat Arba bedroom on Thursday morning.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack against Hallel Yaffe Ariel, the PA Health Ministry issued a death notice about her killer, the Hebrew news site nrg reported, which read: “We are officially announcing the death of the youth, Muhammed Nasser Taraiyre, 19, from the town of Bani Naim, after the occupation fired on him near the settlement of Charsina northeast of Hebron.”

Meanwhile, as was reported by Palestinian Media Watch, the official Facebook page of PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah faction promptly posted a picture of Taraiyre and declared him a “shahid” — martyr. PMW also noted that the PA’s news agency, WAFA, also honored Taraiyre as a martyr, and — in an interview with a local Hebron news network — his mother said: “My son is a hero. He made me proud. My son died as a Martyr defending Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, he [my son] has joined the Martyrs before him, and he is not better than them. Allah willing, all of them will follow this path, all the youth of Palestine. Allah be praised.”

PMW pointed out that, in accordance with PA law, Taraiyre’s family will now begin receiving a monthly stipend — something that is paid to all families of “martyrs.”
As The Algmeiner reported, Taraiyre was killed by a civilian Rapid Response Team in the West Bank city of Kiryat Arba, after he stabbed Ariel to death in her bedroom. Before being neutralized, he managed also to seriously wound a member of the rescue team.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu called on the Palestinian leadership “to clearly and unequivocally condemn this vicious murder and take immediate action to stop the incitement.”

He also said, “The entire world needs to condemn this murder just as it condemned the terrorist attacks in Orlando and Brussels. Enlightened nations…must pressure the one who heads the network of incitement that leads to the murder of children in their beds and not the state of Israel, which is working to protect its children and its citizens.”

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon released a statement pointing to what he called “a direct line between PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ words of incitement in the European Parliament [last Thursday] to the ghastly murder of Hallel Ariel. I call on the Security Council to condemn this horrific murder and to put an end to the rampant Palestinian incitement.”
